Dr. Mohammed M. Bait-Suwailam received the B.E. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Sultan Qaboos University, Muscat, Oman in 2001, the M.A.Sc. degree from Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS, in 2004, and the Ph.D. degree from University of Waterloo, Waterloo, ON, Canada, in 2011, both in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Since 2001, he was appointed as a lecturer at Sultan Qaboos University, where he was involved with teaching, academic advising and research. While pursuing his master's and doctorate degrees, he was a teaching/research assistant. Presently, he is an Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Sultan Qaboos University, Oman. He has authored and co-authored more than 30 papers in refereed journals and conference Proceedings on topics related to electromagnetic phenomena, computational electromagnetics, EMI/EMC, and applications of metamaterials in radiating systems, guiding structures and medical devices.
Dr. Bait-Suwailam is the recipient of two scholarships from Sultan Qaboos University, and the recipient of the International Student Doctoral Completion Award from the University of Waterloo in 2011, and the Best Teacher Award from Sultan Qaboos University in 2015. Currently, he is a Senior Member of IEEE, a member of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society, and a member of the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Society. He is also holding the IEEE membership & Development officer position under IEEE Oman Section. Recently, Bait-Suwailam received a certificate of recognition from IEEE member recruitment and recovery committee for outstanding achievement in membership recruitment for the Oman section during the 2015 membership year.
