The IEEE CS Oman Chapter serves as a platform to bring together members of the IEEE CS. This allows members to cooperate, share ideas, engage in professional activities, and most importantly to work for the betterment of the Sultanate of Oman.
Additionally, the Chapter aims to:
- Raise the awareness about IEEE and the Chapter
- Involve more members in the professional activities
- Increase the number of Computer Society members

CS Chapter Chair
Dr. Ahmed Al Maashri holds an MSc in Information Systems and a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Sultan Qaboos University.
CS Chapter Vice Chair
Holder of a master degree in Business Administration from University of Bedfordshire and a bachelor of engineering from Sultan Qaboos University in Computer Systems and Network.
CS Chapter Secretary
Dr. Dawood Al-Abri is an assistant professor at Sultan Qaboos University. His research interests include social networks, computer networks, network security, and digital testing.
CS Chapter Treasurer
Prof. Mani Joseph is the Associate Dean for Quality Assurance at Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS), Oman. Prior to joining MCBS in 2004, he served as the Dean of Faculty of Computer Science & Engineering at Sharjah College, UAE.
